BIO: Dr. Papakonstantinou is a board certified Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon. Dr. Papakonstantinou grew up in the Detroit area, his father an autoworker and his mother a housewife. His parents stressed the value and importance of higher education and instilled a tremendous work ethic in their sons. Dr. Papakonstantinou did his internship at Wayne Sate University/Detroit Medical Center and completed his orthopaedic residency at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic and was Chief Orthopaedic Resident in his final year. There he learned the skills to become a technically sound surgeon and a compassionate physician treating all types of orthopaedic conditions. At the end of his five-year residency, he chose to pursue further training and gain further expertise in the treatment of spinal conditions. He acquired further skills in the treatment of the spine at Orthopaedics Indianapolis/Indiana University Spine fellowship and concentrated on treating the spine with minimally-invasive techniques.
